Batik: a cultural dilemma of infatuation and appreciation.

A wonderful article by The Jakarta Post Life team, exploring the meaning of batik in modern Indonesian society.

Our thoughts on the matter at Senada Batik Bali, we believe batik fabrics can only truly be called “authentic batik”, if the traditional batik making process is followed. To us, this means the dying of fabrics using the wax resist technique, a method used by traditional batik making artisans in Indonesia for centuries.

At Senada Batik Bali, we have a passion for batik, and we work hard in trying to keep this cultural tradition alive. All our batik fabrics are handmade using the authentic, traditional hand stamped Indonesian “tjap” (stamp) wax resist method.
